PALM BEACH. The one-time home of heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post, Mar-a-Lago is perhaps Palm Beach's most famous residence. Now a private club owned by real estate tycoon, Donald Trump, the beautiful, Spanish-styled residence is not open for public viewing but can be glimpsed as you drive down South Ocean Boulevard. Its 100-plus rooms recreate a variety of architectural styles and are beautifully furnished with many of the home's original artifacts. The estate also boasts a 75-foot tower, its own golf course, and an underground tunnel to the shore. The melodic name is Spanish and refers to the home's grounds, which stretch from sea to lake.
